Airbus – ArgoNET nuclear safety
September 4, 2026 •

ArgoNET – part of the European Space Agency Argonaut mission – aims to deliver lunar surface infrastructure covering navigation, power supply and telecommunications necessary to support a sustained presence on the moon by 2031.
Airbus has engaged Amentum’s nuclear safety experts, based in Aix-en-Provence, to support its work on assessing different approaches for the transport of radioactive materials to the moon.
Our team provides Airbus with expertise in nuclear safety and regulatory compliance, including review and assessment against ESA requirements, applicable regulatory and safety requirements, and challenge and validation of safety assumptions to help Airbus successfully deliver the mission.
