Jennifer Walsmith

Jennifer Walsmith is President of Amentum’s Intelligence & Cyber business group. In her role, Jennifer leads a global team serving national intelligence, military intelligence, and Five Eyes programs. Under her leadership, the group delivers mission-driven, AI-enabled solutions with urgency, precision, and expertise. Her team solves real-world, multi-intelligence challenges; helps customers securely store, analyze, and leverage classified data; designs and implements AI-powered cloud-native software solutions; defends cyberspace with both offensive and defensive cyber capabilities; and delivers secure, reliable infrastructure in any environment, supporting intelligence customers across theaters of operation, secure facilities, communication channels, and cyberspace.

Walsmith brings more than three decades of national security experience spanning industry and government. Before joining Amentum in January 2025, she served as vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman’s Cyber & Intelligence business, where she operationalized leading-edge technologies ahead of market shifts to meet emerging customer missions. She previously led Northrop Grumman’s Integrated National Systems division as vice president, directing space-based intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance programs.

Her industry leadership builds on 15 years of public service at the National Security Agency, culminating in her role as the agency’s senior acquisition executive, NSA’s top acquisition official, and as a key participant in the U.S. Comprehensive National Cyber Initiative. At NSA, she also served as deputy program executive officer and represented the agency on the Intelligence Community Acquisition Council and the Department of Defense Senior Integration Group. Earlier in her career, she held acquisition roles at SAIC and the National Reconnaissance Office.

Walsmith’s contributions to national security have been recognized with the National Intelligence Superior Service Medal and multiple Presidential Rank Awards. WashingtonExec has named her a Top Cyber Exec to Watch (2020, 2023) and a Top National Security Exec to Watch (2026), and she previously chaired the WashingtonExec Intelligence Council. A former board member of the Intelligence and National Security Alliance, she serves on the advisory board of UMBC’s College of Engineering and Information Technology. She holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
