Amentum to Provide Specialist Services for UK’s Nuclear Waste Management Organization

CHANTILLY, VA., September 16, 2025 —Amentum (NYSE: AMTM) has been appointed as one of the suppliers on all four lots of a major new framework to support delivery of the United Kingdom’s waste management mission.
The Integrated Waste Management Specialist Nuclear Services Framework, awarded by Nuclear Waste Services (NWS), has an estimated value of £26 million over a four-year period.
Mark Whitney, president of Amentum Energy & Environment, said: “As the only company to win positions in all four lots, Amentum has the opportunity to provide critical specialist capabilities and solutions to enable NWS in ensuring safe and secure management of the UK’s radioactive waste.”
Under the new framework, Amentum will deliver a range of technical support to NWS’s Integrated Waste Management Delivery Team. This will cover the entire waste management lifecycle, including topic areas such as waste culture, knowledge management, sustainability, strategy and business case and underpinning technical support.
NWS is part of the NDA group, which has a collective long-term mission to clean up nuclear sites safely, securely, and cost-effectively. The NDA is a non-departmental public body created by the Energy Act 2004 to lead the clean-up and decommissioning work at 17 sites on behalf of government. It’s sponsored and funded by the Department for Energy, Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority established the Integrated Waste Management Programme to ensure waste is managed in a more integrated way, from waste generation to disposal, removing barriers and promoting value-based decision making.
