Amentum is recognized by clients, regulators, and professional organizations for consistently delivering industry leading results. We have the proven leadership to ensure success in these challenging and rewarding pursuits.

Under the Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering & Test (COMET) contract, Amentum provides engineering; ground system development; flight vehicle/spacecraft processing; and launch, landing and recovery operations for NASA’s major Exploration Systems Development programs: Exploration Ground Systems, Space Launch System and Orion programs.

As the Artemis prime contractor at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) for Exploration Ground Systems, Amentum handled the final checkout and integration of all flight hardware for Artemis I. The Amentum team received Orion from Lockheed Martin following the crew capsule and service module assembly in the Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building at KSC. Orion was in the Multi-Purpose Processing Facility (MPPF), where complex ground servicing operations were performed on the service module and crew module systems used during on-orbit mission operations. These systems include reaction control and orbital maneuvering propulsion systems, avionics cooling systems, and crew module interior environmental systems.

In addition, the Amentum team performed avionics testing, mission payload fit checks, developmental flight instrumentation sensor installations, thermal protection installations, and the application of NASA and ESA logos. From the MPPF, Orion was moved to the Launch Abort Servicing Facility, where Amentum stacked the Launch Abort System on top of the crew module. Then, it was transported to the VAB for stacking on the SLS core stage.

Under the JSC Engineering, Technology, and Science (JETS) II contract, Amentum provides engineering design, development, sustaining engineering, analysis, assessment, technology development, test services and laboratory/facility operation and maintenance for the JSC Engineering Directorate. Amentum also delivers planetary missions research, physical science research, astromaterial curation and laboratory/facility operation and maintenance for the JSC Exploration Integration and Science Directorate, as well as engineering and related services for other organizations at JSC and other Centers and government agencies.

Under the Aerospace Testing and Facilities Operations and Maintenance (ATOM-5) contract, Amentum will be responsible for operation, maintenance, repair and management of Ames test facilities; planning, preparation, scheduling and execution of aeronautics and space technology tests; and design, implementation and checkout of advanced development projects. These tasks will support the Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate, the Exploration Systems Development Directorate, the Space Launch System, and the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, in addition to commercial entities and other government agencies.

The Engineering Services and Science Capability Augmentation (ESSCA) contract enables Amentum to continue providing critical science and engineering and technical support for flagship NASA programs including the Space Launch System, International Space Station and numerous space science and technology development projects.

Amentum provides research facility operations, central utilities operations, technology development/ administration, research and institutional maintenance, and facility engineering.

On the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) Contract, Amentum delivers integrated solutions supporting the concurrent testing, training, and operations for the Missile Defense Agency, enabling more rapid and effective research, development, integration, and testing for the advancement of the Missile Defense System.

Delivering innovative OM&S solutions on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), Amentum supports the North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) and the U.S. Space Force in transforming operations from legacy systems to digital operations for the surveillance and cataloging of man-made objects in space; mitigation of orbital conflicts; threat warnings from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems; and operations and maintenance of classified communications.
