What is your role at Amentum?

Operations Director, Environmental Services – North America

Describe a typical workday at Amentum for you (Day in The Life):

I focus on three lanes each day. Current operations, business development and personnel to support our current projects. As a result, I spend my days engaging with our project delivery teams, clients, potential new clients / business development team, and future potential employees.

What do you enjoy about working for Amentum and what do you find most rewarding?

The most enjoyable part of working at Amentum is being a part of the tangible environmental cleanup results. The most rewarding aspect is supporting employees while they advance their careers by pursuing education, credentials, position advancement and earn great responsibility.

What inspired you to pursue a career in engineering, and how has it shaped your journey at Amentum?

As a farm kid, I watched the construction of several barns and outbuildings. The interest led to majoring in civil engineering and pursuing a career as an Army Engineer Officer. Upon retirement, I was able to translate my military experience into an opportunity with Amentum.

Any insights or perspectives you gained working for Amentum that you didn’t expect?

I’ve learned that innovation isn’t just about technology – it’s about people. Building trust and fostering collaboration across diverse teams is as critical to mission success as technical expertise.
