Amentum Wins $91.8 Million Contract for Cutting-Edge Software Engineering to Advance Capabilities of Naval Sensor Systems

CHANTILLY, Va., April 13, 2025 – Amentum (NYSE: AMTM) has been awarded a $91.8 million contract by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Amentum’s leadership in electromagnetic and sensor systems and delivering agile, customer-focused solutions will advance the Navy’s mission of protecting national security.

Under this contract, Amentum’s team will leverage advanced capabilities like model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to transform systems from a document-centric to a model-centric methodology, enhancing efficiency and precision.
Amentum will deliver real-time, mission-critical, agile-based software engineering expertise across sensor data collection, exploitation, fusion, modeling, and concept exploration. The scope of work includes software design and development, configuration and data management, DevSecOps, data science, tool development, technology development and insertion, prototyping, and technology demonstrations.
This five-and-a-half-year effort, commencing January 16, 2026, will deliver innovative software engineering solutions for the NSWCDD Electromagnetic & Sensor Systems Department in Dahlgren, VA, and Fredericksburg, VA.
