Amentum’s Brian Heffernan Named Veteran of the Year by Military Friendly®

Brian Heffernan, Amentum’s Global Manager of Military Programs, has been named the national 2025 Veteran of the Year for the Army by Military Friendly®. The organization helps service members and veterans successfully transition to civilian life. Heffernan was selected for his leadership, dedication, and tireless advocacy for the U.S. military and veterans’ communities.

From forging enduring partnerships with private organizations, to ensuring transitioning service members have access to meaningful employment opportunities, the award is a testament to Heffernan’s people-first approach and relentless pursuit of excellence. His commitment to service—both in uniform and in the civilian workforce—has made a positive impact on a countless number of lives.

Heffernan is a retired Army Command Sergeant Major with more than 27 years of experience leading large, diverse teams. His military career culminated with his role as Garrison Command Sergeant Major at Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.
