CHANTILLY, Va.; May 24, 2023 – Amentum earned a highly-competed spot on the $250 million U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) multiple award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to modernize test and training infrastructure instrumentation systems. Under task and delivery orders, Amentum will deliver advanced engineering and technical solutions for long-term sustainment of weapons testing systems, along with naval studies, analysis, and site surveys.

“As the largest weapons testing solutions provider in the world, our breadth and depth of experience developing and modernizing hardware and software for tactical training systems and subsystems is second to none,” said Dr. Karl Spinnenweber, President of Amentum’s Critical Missions Group. “Amentum will provide the Navy best-in-class integrated and interoperable warfighting capabilities through cutting-edge research, development, test, evaluation, and sustainment.”

Amentum specializes in technologies like threat radars, simulator systems, and training infrastructure operations and sustainment by delivering system software development, modification, and sustainment on a wide variety of electronic warfare and instrumentation systems.

Under this contract, Amentum provides test and training solutions to include airborne and ground-based elements, interfaces, and support to auxiliary equipment. These supported systems include remote ground stations, data collection systems, data processing and display systems, host range interface equipment, testing and troubleshooting hardware. Amentum will also support validation of articles under test through various hardware and instrumentation systems. Additionally, Amentum will provide full-spectrum solutions to include long-term sustainment of both existing test and training range systems, and new cutting-edge instrumentation systems as they are designed, developed, fielded, and integrated. Finally, the company will provide onsite and in-plant engineering and technical solutions, along with studies, analyses, and site surveys for the Navy customer.

“Amentum looks forward to delivering the latest technology to upgrade the hardware and on instrumentation systems for the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division,” said Tim Olinger, Amentum’s Senior Vice President for Range & Aerial Operations. “We will support the modernization of the range systems, while also providing full-spectrum solutions for the complete life cycle of test and training infrastructure.”

NAWCWD boasts a variety of state-of-the-art, unique laboratories and facilities that enable the U.S. to deliver unparalleled weapons research, development, acquisition, test, and evaluation for the nation’s warfighters. It offers 24/7/365 warfighter support to ensure in-the-field service members can defend the nation at home and at sea, whenever called upon.

Amentum will compete for task orders to provide world-class combat environment instrumentation systems for NAWCWD through March of 2028.
