Amentum Awarded Seaport-NxG Task Order to Provide IT Support Services for Submarine Networks
GERMANTOWN, Md.; June 18, 2020 – The U.S. Navy has awarded Amentum a new task order under the Seaport NxG contract vehicle.
Under a five-year, firm fixed-price task order, the company’s Intelligence, System Engineering, Security, Services & Solutions (IS4) Strategic Business Unit will provide information technology support services to the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center Code 273.
“Through this task order, Amentum’s Sustainment, Engineering and Acquisition Sector will continue to provide technical, assessment, and modernization support for submarine networks,” said Jill Bruning, Executive Vice President and IS4 General Manager. “Amentum’s experts have significant hands-on experience on these unique systems and adhere to the Navy’s requirements for certification and continual learning.”
Amentum’s experts will provide onboard and type commander administration support, guidance, system onboard training, and monitoring of submarine networks. They will also provide support for client laptops and workstations, as well as mentorship and instruction to fleet LAN administrators and submarine crews in maintenance and administration procedures.
Work under the task order will be performed at government facilities including home ports in Norfolk, Va.; Groton, Conn.; and Kings Bay, Ga.
