Joe Dunaway is the President of Amentum’s Aviation Strategic Business Unit, where he is responsible for all aspects of the $1.2B profit and loss global organization. He oversees 5,600 employees who provide a complete range of aviation maintenance, sustainment, logistics, flight operations and training to government and commercial clients worldwide. Prior to Amentum, Joe held executive positions within Dyn Corp International as the Dyn Aviation Chief Operating Officer, SVP Corporate Operations and VP Air Operations.
Joe has more than 28 years in distinguished active military service with the Army. He served in both combat and garrison locations around the world and commanded at every level through Brigade Command, to include command of the Corpus Christi Army Depot. His final assignment was in the Pentagon as the Military Executive to the HON Alan F. Estevez, Principal Deputy to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Transportation and Logistics (AT&L). He holds rating as a Master Army Aviator and Test Pilot with two Bronze Stars, two Air Medals and the Combat Action Badge. He has a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy with a Supply Chain Management Certification from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) and is also a graduate of the Depot and Arsenal Leadership Executive Program (DALEP) from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, NC. He is a Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt Certified Champion, with Green Belt Certification and is a certified lead auditor to the AS9100:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
